Performance Management

The performance management model adopted by PPHD is the 2013 version of the Turning Point Framework, available from the Public Health Foundation.  This model links performance standards, performance measurement, progress reporting, and quality improvement.

The goal of performance management is to improve the way PPHD operates, in terms of improved health outcomes, efficiency in operations, and fiscal management.  The performance management system is monitored by the performance management coordinator, health director, and Leadership Team.

A large part of performance management is setting specific performance goals, collecting data showing progress on these goals, reporting progress both internally to staff and externally to stakeholders through a systematic process, and integrating performance management into quality improvement.

 The PPHD Performance Dashboard displays how we are doing as a health department along with the health status of the Panhandle.  This performance dashboard is made up of all of the things PPHD has in place to improve the health of those in the Panhandle—our Strategic Plan, Workforce Development Plan, and Community Health Improvement Plan.  It also shows each program individually.
This performance dashboard is built using Clear Impact, a cloud-based performance management system, and displays:

  • Population Indicators – show health outcomes at a large level (e.g., diabetes rate)
  • Performance Measures
    • Outcomes – show what we have accomplished (e.g., percent of businesses with healthy vending)
    • Process – show what we at PPHD do (e.g., number of businesses that attend Panhandle Worksite Wellness Council annual conference)
