Child Well Being Coalition

Agenda for June 24th was:

To have a facilitated process to determine our CWB Strategic Directions based on our practical vision and underlying contradictions. 050510 PV and UC Workshop Product

A survey for Parent Child interaction was sent 4/23/10 to the following entities:  Head Start, Early Head Start, Children's Outreach Program, Early Childhood Services, Family advocates, Rural Partnership for Children, and those providing parenting classes.  If you are involved in programs or practices that does training with parents please complete the survey found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3ZH3HSW.  Completed surveys are needed by April 29 to have time to prepare the information for the May 4 meeting.  Click here to view the cover letter.
 
The agenda for May 4 wass:
 
Review of Documents and Consensus on Initial Priority Areas and Recommendations
( Please note this work will result in regional priorities that will be included in the plan.)
 
Completion of Items from Last Meeting
1. Prevention System
2. Coalition Capacity
3. Community Description
4. Review of Community Context Contributing Factors, Root Causes and Consequences working documents and consensus on Priority Factors.
 
Parent Child Interaction
The majority of the meeting will be dedicated to establishing more understanding of the role Positive Parent Child Interaction has in the health, well being and safety of children and the factors which we believe impact the parents effectiveness. This work will include:
  • Group discussion to enhance the definition,
  • Identification of Factors, Root Causes and Consequences ( this work will link directly with the Community Context discussions from the last meeting. )
  • Review of the asset map of Parent Child Interaction programs, policies, and practices in the region. Please see the attached survey for a more broad definition. If your agency provides services in Parent Child Interaction please complete the form and return it to Mary Wernke by ( Date)
  • Identify initial key priority areas ( does not have to be specific) for future Parent Child Interaction work. The question here is : What priority areas should we identify as a region for improving Parent Child Interaction resources to impact child well being indicators for children and youth?
